Dr. Whitney discusses healthcare reform with Sen. Robert Casey during his visit to BCHIP.

Meet Dr. Whitney

"His commitment is 24/7/365. He gets it. Almost reminiscent of the doctor in years gone by, who would make a house call at 1 AM and think nothing of it because he knows it’s his duty and what he committed his life to….Helping others."
– Frank & Robin DeLuna

Dr. Charles Whitney graduated from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia in 1990 and completed his family practice residency at the David Grant United States Air Force Medical Center. He is double Board Certified in the specialties of Family Medicine and Sports Medicine. His experience includes seven years as an Air Force physician and six years in the University of Pennsylvania Health System before establishing his “concierge” practice in 2003.
That year, forward thinkers within the University of Pennsylvania recognized our broken medical system has damaged the doctor/patient relationship.

Many patients desired a return to the “old fashioned” level of service and care, so PENN leadership asked Dr. Whitney to pilot the first of several “concierge” practices they planned to establish. It was called PENNCare Plus at Washington Crossing and opened its doors August 11, 2003.

PENNCare Plus was the second ”concierge” practice in the state of Pennsylvania. After a business plan change within the PENN organization, Dr. Whitney assumed ownership of the practice on July 1, 2004 and changed the name to Revolutionary Health Services.

Dr. Whitney is a known leader in the industry:

  • He currently sits on the Board of Directors of the American Academy of Private Physicians (AAPP), the National organization of concierge practices.
  • He also sits on the Clinical Advisory Board of GenesysMD Electronic Medical records.
  • Dr. Whitney volunteers his time as a physician at the BCHIP Adult Health Clinic in Bensalem. BCHIP is a medical clinic sponsored by St. Mary’s Medical Center that is free to residents of Bucks County who do not qualify for Medicare or Medicaid, but cannot afford health insurance.
  • He also has enjoyed his time as a coach for youth baseball, softball, and basketball in New Hope/Solebury.

Dr. Whitney is married with four children ages 6-16.
