"This new Dr. thing is great. I emailed him, he responded, and I got an Rx ordered... all from Chicago. I love this.”

Patient-Centered Medical Home (PC-MH)

In March 2007, the major national organizations representing Family Physicians, Internists, and Pediatricians established, “Principals of a Patient-Centered Medical Home (PC-MH)”.

The vision is excellent, but implementation will be difficult in today’s model of healthcare delivery. The media is beginning to talk about the need in our country for medical homes. Unfortunately, many members of the media are receiving their information from the insurance industry which has a vested interest in having physicians care for 2000+ patients in their “home”  (practice). That number is unrealistic if a true medical home is to be offered.

As a patient of Revolutionary Health Services, you pay a monthly fee that allows Dr. Whitney to limit the number of patients he cares for and gives you the comfort of knowing that you have a physician who will invest the time to get to know you and make the time necessary to properly be your doctor and your healthcare advocate in our complex medical system.

Personal Physician:

No PA, nurse practitioner, or “on call” physician. Your doctor will be available 24/7.

Access:

Communicate with your physician through office visits, by secure e-mail, or on his personal cell phone. Even routine visits are available within one business day. We make every effort to see all sick visits the same day. When acute problems or routine care can be managed by telephone call, we’ll do so. Thus, we’ll save you valuable time.

Time:

Our typical office visit is at least 30 minutes, giving you ample time to fully address your concerns with Dr. Whitney. We value your time and offer a “no wait” waiting room for your convenience.

Hospital Visits:

You will see your doctor when you need him the most. Dr. Whitney will attend to you and coordinate your care when you are admitted to St. Mary’s Hospital, Doylestown Hospital, or Capital Health-Mercer Medical Center.

Coordination of Care:

The current healthcare system can cause heads to spin! Dr. Whitney and his staff will do everything within reason to ensure your walk through the maze of referrals, pre-approvals, and visits to specialists and other healthcare providers is as simple as possible. We will provide you with all necessary information and Dr. Whitney will write, e-mail, or call specialists when necessary to make your time efficient. He will be the quarterback of your health care team.

Medical Problems:

Dr. Whitney is a problem solver. When new problems arise with your health, he will take the time necessary to establish the diagnosis and coordinate treatment. Time also allows him to safely manage several complex chronic medical problems. Dr. Whitney stays current with rapidly changing medical guidelines and treatment options.

Wellness Care:

In order to age gracefully, we need to properly care for our most valuable asset, our health. Dr. Whitney is your health advisor and your health coach. Your annual wellness evaluation is scheduled to last up to two hours and is more complete than executive physicals some companies offer their top executives. It includes:

  • A complete health risk assessment and physical exam
  • Nutritional assessment and counseling
  • Fitness assessment, exercise prescription, and counseling
  • Body composition analysis
  • Detailed preventive cardiology assessment, risk analysis, and counseling
  • Appropriate disease prevention and screenings
  • Dementia screening as needed
  • A detailed written report summarizing your visit and providing a personal wellness plan
  • Additionally, you will receive periodic newsletters, access to Dr. Whitney’s health blog, and detailed answers to your e-mails.

In-Office Procedures:

Dr. Whitney is experienced in performing joint aspirations, joint injections, cryotherapy of warts/skin tags, stitches, mole removals, toenail removals, skin biopsies, and minor fracture management.

"Whole-istic" Treatment Options:

Science is the foundation of medical care. Whenever possible, patient management needs to be based on unbiased, quality research.

However, medicine is also an art and physicians inherently need to utilize their intuition and commonsense. Dr. Whitney is a wholistic, not a holistic physician. He recognizes that the “wholeness” that makes us human is a combination of our biology, our psychology, and our spirit. He does not consider himself to be an, “alternative medicine” doctor, but has become adept at filtering the thousands of alternative medical care options available. Some options have low risk, potentially high benefit, and appear to be safe. He recommends them regularly. Others are snake oil, potentially harmful, and are often scientifically shown to be useless.

If you are looking for a science-based physician who uses experience and acquired medical commonsense to care for your “whole” health and filter what you read in the media, Dr. Whitney is the right physician for you.
